Friday mornings are reserved.
For padel. Same court, same time. The lineup changes every week, and that's half the fun.
This week: one Boomer, one Gen X (hi), one Millennial, and one Gen Z, who happens to be my son. We split it Boomer and Gen X against the kids, and I'll admit I had my doubts.
Wisdom vs. youth.
Wisdom won. We didn't play harder, we played smarter. And yes, I'm a little smug about it.

TODAY’S PICKS
THE FEATURE
My Madonna-Byrd Complex: One Fought Time. One Didn't.
One '80s icon erased every year off her face. The other let every one show. She grew up on both, and she still can't pick a side.
THE REFLECTION
Two Carts Are Better Than One.
She locked her keys in the car at Stop & Shop. Her ex had the spare. He came. Then he grabbed a cart too.
Sunday Plans.
Padel in the morning. Chicken tortilla soup and football in the afternoon. A friend swears by Slow Horses, so we're starting it that night.
THE WILDCARD
I Finally Understand Why My Grandma Hoarded Ketchup Packets.
Grandma drove a Cadillac and got her hair done every week. She also never left McDonald's without a fistful of ketchup packets.
If you know someone who'd love this, send it to them.
That's the whole ask.
There's something in it for you too.
Details below.
My answer:
The really good ice cream. For twenty years it disappeared in two days and I wouldn’t get more than a bite or two. Now it lasts all week. It's thrilling.
